Bloody Scotland is THE crime and thriller festival north of the Tweed, and one of the UK’s premier Crime events. I’ve had a great time at the previous festivals, and my very first appearance was at Bloody Scotland, on the Pitch Perfect panel in 2012. Which was bloody terrifying, but great fun.
I gained an invite by submitting a pitch to a competition, and the top six were invited to deliver their pitch to a panel of ‘Nippy Sweeties’, comprised of Liz Small (Waverley Books), Rachel Rayner (Transworld Books) Maxine Hitchcock (Simon & Schuster) and Jenny Brown (Chair of Bloody Scotland and Literary Agent).
It was nerve-wracking but great fun, and congratulations to the winners Sharon Birch and Joe Knobbs, it was thoroughly deserved.
